Are Catholics delusional?

I don't think so, I think they have simply been taught a dangerous way to think. Catholic thinking is canonical; anything above them in the hierarchy is closer to the truth and knowledge or they are bound by obedience to those above them.

This way of thinking obstructs the ability to think logically and rationally.

Catholics do become delusional when they insist that this dysfunctional and primitive way of thinking is the way human beings evolved to be at their peak - that is quite delusional and extremely dangerous. Thankfully many are seeing the results of this for the first time with million upon million abandoning the church in favour or more reasonable ways to be human.

Catholics are certainly unreasonable and quite irrational when they insist that their religion is the one true religion that all people on the planet should follow; they become dangerous when they insist that praying is effective when it comes to criminal actions, child sexual abuse, the rights of women, justice, morality, equality, human rights, stacking of our parliaments, policing and other areas of the community fear mongering that hell awaits any that do not obey the demented hierarchy and those who do not report their every indiscretion to the malingering child raping or child rapist supporting clergy.

The fastest healing that I am aware of comes from changing that hierarchical way of thinking as it frees you up so that you have the ability to take on board the reality of what it is to be a human being.

An interesting aspect of doing that comes when you realise that much of what you learn is actually relearning as you came to realise the fallacies of the Catholic way of thinking - it grows to offend you once you get to understand what science tells us about how our brains work, how our memory functions and how our brains are plastic and are able to repair a great deal of the damage.

Shedding the blackmail ways of thinking are also advantageous as this is the core of our communications with one another; once we lose the blackmail, threat intimidation of the catholic way of thinking we are progressing rapidly towards becoming the real human being that we are.

There is a great deal of personal growth available that simply cannot be found in Catholicism and canonical hierachial thinking - for many that is a retake up of what they missed in their childhood through being forced to participate in a religion that both abused, confused and used them.

Until Catholics can come to terms with the reality of our lives today with access to knowledge and understanding at our fingertips and with the growing mountains of evidence that says that the catholic way of life has been broken for centuries and thankfully it is dying a relatively quick death.
