Re: PROTECTIONS OF CHILDREN - STOP THE CONFLICTS OF INTEREST & OBSTRUCTIONS OF JUSTICE
Dear Honorable Karen L. Haas:
Thisletter is a request for intervention from the U.S. House ofRepresentatives relating to failures to strictly enforce mandatedreporting laws that protect children and vulnerable adults from sexabuse and or violent crimes.
The events relating to the clergysex abuse crisis that erupted in 2002 and most recently in the U.S.Senate, indicate that politics and the good 'ol boy networks havecreated serious CONFLICTS OF INTEREST causing ongoing OBSTRUCTIONS OFJUSTICE. Politics and the good 'ol boy networks have run the show toolong. We can no longer remain silent.
The survivors of clergysex abuse and their families have been screaming for years about theexisting dangers in our society -- but politics and the good 'ol boynetworks continued, without corrective action.
Electedgovernment officials nationwide have had opportunities to correct thewrongs committed against children and vulnerable adults, throughlegislation similar to California's 2003 Sex Abuse Law. However, politics and the good 'ol boy networks are still doing their thing, without understanding the serious ongoing failures to protect children. This is a conflict of interest and brings ongoing obstructions ofjustice.
We have learned that no legal, religious, politicalor government institution should police itself -- it is a conflict ofinterest.
We have learned that politics and the good 'ol boynetworks have reached far into the courts and judiciary systems formany years -- this is a conflict of interest.
We have learnedthat many have never looked a sex or violent crime victim in the eyes, have never listened to the victims' family pain -- allowing politicsand the good 'ol boy networks to influence the media, courts andjudiciary.
Please consider an immediate U.S. Congressionalhearing to determine the need for legislation and corrective action.Clergy sex abuse victims, victims of crime and their families have beenleft alone to fight politics and the good 'ol boy networks.
Asa society, we must stop the CONFLICTS OF INTEREST that causeOBSTRUCTIONS OF JUSTICE -- we must demand that children are protected.Without justice there will never be peace and without peace, faith andour country's laws are empty.
Respectfully submitted,

As an amateur writer, my passion forthe courage of clergy sex abuse victims has changed my life directionin many ways. We must never forget that our country's freedom ofreligion does not include sex abuse crimes, cover-ups and failures toreport sex abuse to law enforcement. Your input is important and valued-- please listen to the personal stories of clergy sex abuse survivors- write to your state legislators and Church leaders expressing yourviews and concerns. May God Bless you always.
