Designing a workable solution

Description: Designing a workable solution

Article originally prepared on : 04 November 2006

Designing a workable solution.
At this stage this is an unfortunately one-sided approach to the problem, however we hope that through your input we can provide a sound platform for an open discussion. Visit a working draft of "Designing a Workable Solution - a co-operative approach to

We will accept anonymous submissions as well as the submissions of registrants.
One of the points made by many victims is to be able to find an independent and open means of

Help current victims to make contact with others who have been through the Carelink, Commission, Compensation Panel process. These are amongst the few people victims feel they are able to trust. This can be achieved very simply by the providing the visibility and transparency that is so vital for victims. Their trust have been badly damaged. These can be people who feel a great deal of anger in their lives, however by the time many make their way through such a long and arduous process they find that a huge proportion of their anger is to do with that very process. Victims state that they feel dis-empowered and wish to have what for both parties can be a safe environment.

The proposal is to formulate an online panel made up of equal parts from each of the following: victims, clergy, qualified professionals.

As each victim is introduced into the process they can be provided with free access to information showing the steps of the process, the stages of the process, the current stage of their process and eventually showing a completion.

For those who choose to be fully informed there is a need to provide that in as anonymous a way as possible - the Internet is a suitable means for this. Victims require availablity of information so they can choose to be fully informed of all aspects of the process or not. This information should be available to those being processed at any time without the need to obtain it via telephone, email, letter or as many have had to resort to requesting information via a legal representative.

We find that there is no reason why a full disclosure of the process is not publicly available.

(It does not infringe any confident aspects of a victims submission).
