Cork, Ireland: At a public debate hosted by the University of Cork's prestigious Philosophical Society on September 27, a majority of the several hundred students present voted to approve a motion of the Society that read,

"Be it resolved that this body agrees that Pope Benedict should be arrested."

The vote followed a long and contentious debate between the "Yes" side, represented by Rev. Kevin Annett and the head of Atheists Ireland, Michael Nugent,  and the "No" side, argued by Vatican official and Opus Dei member Jack Bolero, and Luke Norris, a local student.

In their remarks, Annett and Nugent cited extensive evidence of the Pope's personal complicity in protecting and aiding known child rapists within the Catholic Church. Quoting from a study by human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson, The Case of the Pope, both men debunked the Vatican's claim of "diplomatic immunity" from prosecution. Kevin Annett described how canon law allows the rape of children and the legal shielding of the rapist,and has done so for centuries.

In his response, Jack Bolero denied that the Pope has aided and abetted child rapists,and claims that Ratzinger is not personally liable for any crime. Bolero, who helped organize the Pope's London visit the previous week, claimed that the Pope is a victim of an "international anti-Catholic conspiracy" run by "atheists and liberals."

In his summation just prior to the vote, Kevin Annett implored the students,

"This is not an abstract issue or something in the past. Children are dying today from this regime of church terror, and more of them will suffer tomorrow if we don't bring the church under public supervision and control."

The Cork University Philosophical Society, founded in 1850, is one of Ireland's most prestigious debating bodies, and in the past has hosted heads of state, Nobel laureates and human rights campaigners.

New Summons Issued to Pope Benedict and Six Cardinals

London: Widening the net cast last week, the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State (ITCCS) is issuing a broader Public Summons to Pope Benedict, Joseph Ratzinger, and other officials of the Roman Catholic Church.

The new Summons, issued under the signature of ITCCS Acting Secretary Kevin Annett, requires that Ratzinger and six senior Cardinals appear before the opening hearing of the ITCCS in London, England on Monday, April 4, 2011 to answer charges of their personal complicity in crimes against humanity.

The Cardinals named are Tarcisio Bertone, Secretary of State, Giovanni Battista Re, head of the Congregation for Bishops, Francis Arinze, Dario Castrillo Hoyos,Angelo Bagnasco, and Angelo Sodano, Dean of the College of Cardinals.

The Summons warns the Pope and Cardinals that their failure to appear before the Tribunal may result in a verdict made against them in absentia, and open them to prosecution in the court of any of the over one hundred nations that are signatories to the International Criminal Court Convention of 1998.

The Summons supersedes a previous document issued on September 18 in London, in order to clarify possible ambiguities and misperceptions arising from that document.

The new Summons will be delivered to the Offices of the Papal Nuncios in Canada, the United States, Ireland and England. (A complete text of the Summons is reproduced at the end of this Bulletin).

International Day of Action: Completing the Exorcism

October10-11, 2010

Kevin Annett writes:

I had intended to complete the third and final round of spiritual exorcisms in the presence of the spirit that controls what we call the Vatican on October 11, 2010: the first anniversary of the process commenced In Rome, and which has generated such enormous change in the world since then.

Bu t I've come to realize, especially after the very positive reception I received in London during September, and the massive protests against the Pope in London, that this final exorcism is something that needs to span the world and involve as many people as possible.

Therefore, I propose that during the 24 hours from 12 noon on Sunday, October 10 to 12noon on Monday, October 11, you and your networks gather outside Roman Catholic churches in your community and engage in a final and public exorcism of the lies, murder and corruption that inhabit the Church of Rome.

We ask you to offer prayers, smudging, drumming, and other rituals you see fit to call out and expel the lies and crimes of the church, and imbue a new spirit of truth telling so that the dead can find justice and vindication, and the guilty brought to trial.

We are also asking you to commence a 24 hour Fast for Justice at this event, and pass on the Fast to others. We will use the Fast as a moral lever to compel the church to disclose the buried location and fate of children who died at their facilities and surrender those responsible.

We will remind the world through this action that Pope Benedict, Joseph Ratzinger, has been publicly Summoned to appear before an International Tribunal in London on April 4, 2011.

Vatican News Flashes:

Rome: More than twenty million Euros were removed from the Vatican Bank by Italian financial ministry police on September 19, as part of a long-term investigation into alleged money laundering by the Bank.

The Vatican bank has been continually accused of laundering money for the Mafia and right wing dictatorships, especially following the sudden death of Pope John Paul 1 in September, 1978, after he ordered an inquiry into the Bank.

Elsewhere, on September 30, the European Union announced that it will investigate the Vatican for its annual subsidy by the Italian state of more than two billion Euros "“ a figure that some EU officials say is far too high according to international law and custom. The Vatican enjoys tax-free status under Italian law, duty free import status, and a special state endowment from a percentage of the income of all Italians, Catholic or not.

And on an even cheerier note: this news flash from the Associated Press, dated October 1:

US judge asks Vatican to serve court paper to pope

The lawsuit, filed in April in U.S. federal court, names as defendants Joseph Ratzinger, who is now Pope Benedict XVI; Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican secretary of state, and his predecessor, Cardinal Angelo Sodano. It claims the three men knew about allegations of sexual abuse at a Milwaukee-area school for the deaf, and called off internal punishment of the accused priest. The Rev. Lawrence Murphy, who died in 1998, was accused of sexually abusing some 200 boys at the school from 1950 to 1974.

"BlackOps" Advisory

An attempt to discredit the work and reputation of Kevin Annett surfaced last week in London. Without provocation or cause, Lydia White Calf, a Caucasian woman claiming status in the Oglala Indian nation, suddenly made false accusations against Annett and urged his fellow activists to disassociate themselves from him. White Calf provided no proof of her allegations and cancelled her planned documentary film with Annett without explanation.

White Calf's false claims about Kevin Annett have begun to circulate on the internet and Facebook sites.

The ITCCS urges its supporters and the world to disregard such smear efforts, which are designed to discredit Kevin Annett as the figurehead of a growing international movement, and distract from the main issue of child abuse and crimes of church and state.
