MONDAY 14 NOVEMBER
Welcome to this week's Xt3 Molested Catholics mail, where we highlight some of the continuing atrocities carried out around the world in the name of Christianity along with other related events during the past week of interest to responsible people in the third millennium.

CALL FOR ROYAL COMMISSION INTO BOTH CHURCH & STATE
Right across the country there are calls coming from child safety, victims support, concerned corporates and everyday Australians for a Royal Commission into clergy sexual abuse and the failure of our governments to rein in these atrocities. Monday a petition to the federal government will be lodged seeking aRoyal Commission into the systemic failures of both church andgovernment.

HOTTEST ITEM

Since the resignation of the bishops assistant in Belgium recently there have been a number of resignations by similarly outraged workers. Some New York diocese seems to be paring down to the hardest of the hard core followers. Internal complaints are at an all time high with few within the system happy with their circumstance.

On his visit to Australia Tom Doyle spoke on the church and the guarantee of the failure of the hierarchy

Documents recently released in San Diego continue to produce more proof of the International trafficking of pedophile priests and of further atrocities against children. The church continues to fight the release of further documents despite their release being part of an earlier agreement

You might not remember this, but it's been almost a year since the apology to the forgotten Australians. A year since the federal government finally acknowledged to half amillion of us - the forgotten generation and the child migrants - thatthe system had failed every one of us.

That apology, delivered with such solemn ceremony andapparent sincerity, was worth nothing. We waited a lifetime for it, andit came about by the work of brave and sensitive men and women whoworked away at the machine. We were grateful to the then prime minister, Kevin Rudd, for being the one to say sorry, but it may as well havebeen written on toilet paper.

A FORMER altar boy at the centre of a sex abuse claim issuing the Catholic Church for more than $1 million in new documentsfiled in the Supreme Court.

A statement of claim lodged by Cairns legal firm Dean and Bolton details the man's case for compensation after sufferingyears of alleged abuse by a Far Northern priest.

In the claim, a Cairns man, now 38, says the alleged acts of abuse byFather Joseph Sultana from February 1979 to November 1981 at Atherton’sSt Joseph’s Church led to a life of sadness, a sense of loss and grief, social isolation and severe psychiatric symptoms.

The man is seeking $800,000 for future economic loss, $150,000 in generaldamages, plus interest on earnings, damages and superannuation, legalcosts and an amount yet to be determined for past economic loss. read more

THE apologetic words by CatholicArchbishop Denis Hart to victims of sexual assault at the hands ofCatholic priests in Wednesday's Herald Sun are far from the reality ofthe appalling, cold-hearted response our family received.

We quickly learned there was a cruel face to the Catholic Church -- one I had neither seen nor even suspected; one that cared nothing about the sexual assault and immense suffering of our 14-year-old Emma, orany other victim.

Our story is not rare, it is just rarely told -- we know of many more suffering victims and families.

The hierarchy's reaction to the rape of our children caused us to fight for a proper response, a just response, a Christian response. It was, unfortunately, nowhere to be found. more

In light of the constant and repeated failures of the Catholic hierarchy in its response to the sexual abuse of children the responsibility now falls onto everyday genuine Catholics who should withdraw from every social, community, judicial, policing, publishing, political, health or child service firstly as an act of safety and rightfully then in protest in support of society, its children and its people until they and the church can show that they can fulfill a genuine child safe, nurturing, socially responsible honoring all people as equal.

The scale of the abuses and the failures of the church and its hierarchy simply demand nothing less.

Be proud that you are opposing the most evil empire the planet has seen - their fraudulent and bogus system is in freefall - I am proud of each person who has stood in opposition to them.

A broken social system is not a suitable environment in which to raise children

A healthy and well adjusted child requires a healthy and well adjusted environment in which to grow

There are no better educated minds in regards the prevention and survivalofsexual abuse than those who have both prevented and survived.

The Pope wants the truth.
The truth is that there is no god.
The truth is that the Catholic church is a scam.
The truth is that the Catholic church has become and is a criminal organization.

So now that the world knows and understands that religion has been a fraud incapable of acting as it preaches and very capable of committingatrocities and abuses on the most vulnerable and our children and thenprotecting itself and its wealth are we expected to honor and respectthem and their followers simply because of their belief in a fraud.

What a horrible shame these religions have brought to society. Thesereligions have spent years telling us about justice and rights and loand behold they are shown to be the greatest abusers of these things.

They should have the decency to remove themselves from any area of lifedealing with social services and children until they show they haveworth and value to bring to society.
ASK A MOLESTED CATHOLIC

We received an email from concerned Catholics from the Melbourne Archdiocese who asked several questions. We shall answer these for you next week.

Our priests and our leaders tell us that everything possible is being done for survivors.

We have been told that you have been offered settlements and been provided with full health services as well as the provision of homes and education for your children, we understand that your every need has been met and that none of you want financially.

Why have you not settled with the church?

THE RESPONSE OF THE CHURCH TO CASES OF CLERICAL SEX ABUSE
Expectations of clarity and sincerity were immediately dashed when those who are aware of the history of Cardinal William J. Levada learned that it was he that was to give this address.

While around the globe survivors of clergy abuse are denied a platform to provide the copious evidence of the systematic failures of the church and subsequently the systematic failures of  governments and legal systems to appropriately address the crimes of sexual abuse of children by clergy and the subsequent covering up which continues unabated.

VATICAN VISITORS TREATED LIKE CRIMINALS
A MALAHIDE Catholic lay activist has slammed Vatican authorities after he and a number of survivors of clerical sex abuse were intimidated and 'corralled like criminals' at St Peter's Square. Brendan Butler, who chairs the local Justice and Peace Group, was one of a party of five that accompanied and supported two survivors to Rome on Reformation Day, October 31st, to mark the year of the survivor. However, Mr Butler claimed Italian police 'ring-fenced' the group and refused to allow them into the square in an act of 'harassment'.

ON THE ROFLPYSWL SIDE

Pope calls his cardinals to Rome for sex-abuse summit

"The afternoon session will include hear Cardinal William J. Levada's address: "The response of the church to cases of clerical sex abuse."

Anyone with a knowledge of the history of Cardinal Levada will pass that one up as a guaranteed fail.

There are plenty of voices in Spain calling for Pope Benedict XVI to go home. A number of groups were in Santiago de Compostela to protest, ranging from anti-child abuse activists to gay rights campaigners, and women’s groups.

It is the Church’s recent tortuous negotiation of sex scandals in several countries and what some claim is the Pope’s refusal to confront the problem that have raised the most anger.

“There is a rigid defence position, arguing that every reported case is attacking the clerical institution, but it actually does not, unless that clerical institution defends pederasty,” said “Iglesia Sin Abusos” co-founder Carlos Sanchez Mato.
