WELLESLEY, Mass. It was five yearsago this week that published reports exposed the scope of the clergysex abuse crisis in the Boston Archdiocese.

The nation'sfourth-largest Roman Catholic archdiocese was shaken when courtdocuments showed church leaders protected pedophile priests bytransferring them from parish to parish.A group of lay Catholics that formed out of the scandal is marking the occasion with a series of events this weekend.Voiceof the Faithful held a "Mass of Remembrance and Rededication" today atSt. John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley, where the group got itsstart in 2002 after reading stories of sex abuse in The Boston Globe.Voice leaders are preparing for their second meeting with Cardinal Sean O'Malley to discuss proposed reforms.Voice'sstated goals are to support abuse victims, support priests of integrityand shape structural change in the church, such as more communitycontrol of parishes.
