Jacksonville Film Events, the non-profitorganization that organizes the Jacksonville Film Festival, Reel Peopleand Books Alive, will present a screening of the documentary Hand of God at 7:15 p.m. on Monday at The Atlantic Theatres off Atlantic Boulevard in Atlantic Beach.
Hand of Godportrays the experience of a survivor of Catholic clergy abuse. Asfilmed by his brother, this is an outspoken and sometimes humorous lookat a family's attempt to regain its spiritual footing.
Filmmaker Joe Cultrera grounds the story of hisbrother Paul's abuse in the details of their Sicilian-American Catholicupbringing. The film is making the rounds of independent film festivalsacross the country.
The filmmaker will be in attendance for questions after the film. Tickets are $10, and are available at the door.
