Obsessed and fixated
Description:
A friend of mine, Timothy, another atheist was being told he was "obsessed" and "fixated" with the topic of religion. I had to put in my two cents as to why that might be; (especially since I've been told the same myself on more than a few occasions on FB)
WE each of us DO have our own reasons. BESIDES the obvious ones like honour killings, holy wars, popes & their paedophiles, boys who've killed themselves over being raped by ministers and men of the cloth, witch burnings which have started all over again, the Inquisitions, the Crusades, Pro-lifers, Westboro Baptists, bigotry and religious discrimination throughout the centuries against other religions or the lack of, bigotry and hate against gay people, people of colour, or different cultures, Indian Residential schools, abusive nuns, Catholic Orphanages, children whipped and tortured and starved and abused and used as slave labour while the nuns fed themselves richly, the Vatican, people believing in demon possession and exorcising children to death, monks getting fat from taxing their villagers for everything on a false promise of getting them into a phony afterlife, televangelists, lying faith healers, Scientology, polygamy, young girls forced to marry old men, Jonestown, Heaven's Gate, et cetera, et cetera...
GEE I have no idea why anyone would get obsessed with wanting to rid the earth of the scourge of religion? Do you Timothy? Catholics burning protestants, protestants burning Catholics, Coptic Christians killing Christians, Muslims bombing Jews, Christians hating everyone, abortion clinics being bombed, doctors shot, the Holocaust, children being indoctrinated to believe bullshit. Liars making millions, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyers, Benny Hinn, Peter Popov, Jim and Tammy, mega-churches, women burned alive for adultery, women burned with acid for being "suspected" of not being virgins on their wedding day, churches refusing to perform weddings for same-sex, consenting, adult couples who only wish to love each other, BIGOTRY, HYPOCRISY, LIES, HATE, CORRUPTION, DEATH and PAEDOPHILIA.
That's why I feel obligated to DO something, anything to help people see they've been lied to and how it has hurt us all.
