Anarchy! Not due to the Catholic Church

Description: Absence or non-recognition of authority and order in any given sphere.

Anarchy (from Greek: ἀναρχίᾱ anarchíā, "without ruler") may refer to any of the following:

• "No rulership or enforced authority."^[1]
• "Absence of government; a state of lawlessness due to the absence or inefficiency of the supreme power; political disorder."^[2]
• "A social state in which there is no governing person or group of people, but each individual has absolute liberty (without the implication of disorder)."^[3]
• "Absence or non-recognition of authority and order in any given sphere."^[4]
• "Act[ing] without waiting for instructions or official permission... The root of anarchism is the single impulse to do it yourself:everything else follows from this." ^[5]

"No rulership or enforced authority."

 

      There is a horrible ring to this. The failure of government to act to rein in criminals regardless of their status within or without religion.

 

"Absence of government; a state of lawlessness due to the absence or inefficiency of the supreme power; political disorder."

 

      Self description of current governments. A complete state of lawlessness has presided for 50 or more years.

"A social state in which there is no governing person or group of people, but each individual has absolute liberty (without the implication of disorder)."

      Describes the modus operandi of Catholic bishops across the globe.

 

"Absence or non-recognition of authority and order in any given sphere."

      Not the Catholic Church?

"Act[ing] without waiting for instructions or official permission... The root of anarchism is the single impulse to do it yourself:everything else follows from this."

      Dare we say it again. Not the Catholic Church.
