Getting the name and the reason right
I agree that it is better to call it Christianity, but for TWO reasons. Firstly, if you do some research you will see that every form of organized religion including protestantism, has clergy abuse as well. None are as powerful politically and economically and as centralized as the Catholics (to ship priests from one parish to another).
I would consider saying things about ALL religion/clergy that have a special RESPONSIBILITY because of the power they have by claiming they are humanistic and loving and the trust they have of their practitioners to be at the FOREFRONT of protecting children, and their silence is deafening.
I would compare it to the silence of the whole world during the Holocaust.
I would say that it is great that they care about Darfur, and Tibet and North Korea, but what about the innocent children of their own faiths in their own backyards being raped and sodomized by their own practitioners INCLUDING their own clergy?
The silence is not only deafening, it is damning. It is hypocritical. It is like the followers of Hitler who had a humane society to rescue stray cats while committing genocide. All of the religions that speak of world peace, of love and brotherhood, of human rights violations etc. are bogus.
And that's just the religions! What about the United Nations? The organization that has a whole department that works tirelessly for "human rights" for the Palestinians and other "sexy" (no pun intended) political human interest stories? Who pays THEM off to keep silent about children all over the world being raped and sodomized by religious leaders???
How can we get these ideas into the mainstream media/press?
