When is it time for a society to question?

Description:

When is it time for a society to question when around us we seewhat has been the shining light of Christianity blundering and beingbludgeoned through the courts of some countries. Where in othersinvestigations have been demanded and carried out to show the depth andthe extent of these abuses and the findings are simply staggering on asocial scale. In Canada not only the Catholic church but the UnitingChurch of Canada and others have been implicated in the genocide ofmore than 50,000 Native American children, the theft of their land andtheir rights. Alaska finds itself the global dumping ground for abusiveclergy from the Catholic church where entire social structures have hadtheir once sound social systems destroyed through sexual abuse graftand corruption on an enormous scale. In Brazil the Catholic churchrails against and excommunicates a nine year old girl because sheunderwent a government authorised procedure to ensure her survival - atthe same time it effectively exonerates the rapist.

Insuranceand religion around the world have effectively established a globalregime of statute of limitations laws which have been ruthlesslyexploited by many religions to limit the financial exposure of theirchurch due to the crimes of their clergy. That the Catholic church hasglobally conducted itself in such similar ways is on display in dozensof countries today. This is patently and clearly evident in the repeatedfailures and ignorance shown by bishops who have been deposed in legalactions in the United States.

Whenthe following can conspire to hijack and manipulate a society to such adegree in order to maintain the silence and secrecy of the Catholic andof other religious sects and groups of the clergy abuse issue in oursociety.

When universally statute of limitations laws even whenwindows are opened preclude the vast majority of victims of abuses bythe church to lodge their claims.

When governments across theglobe are bullied by Bishops and religious leaders into complying withwhat we all know to be failed policies and practices it is time for oursociety to question that.

When media are afraid to report orare unwilling to report on the events taking place in other countriesin regards clergy abuse; in particular in regards the Catholic church, however this is not confined to just the Catholic church alone. Almostall religious groups  have issues with clergy abuse. It is safe to saythat it is impossible to name a religious group which does notexperience this problem.
