I would like to see a comprehensive coverage on the global clergy abuse crisis from the survivor/victim perspective.

That perspective is nothing like the stereotyped victims portrayed in the news.

As a survivor I talk to other survivors around the world and our conversation is strongly focused on child safety and the protection of children and the exposure of those who obstruct and deny genuine safety for children.

These people, the survivors of childhood sexual abuse by the most powerful authority on the planet as a collective hold the greatest human knowledge and understanding from real life experiences and survival on this topic and they hold the key to a full understanding of the failures which have permitted these atrocities on such a global scale. A key the world is being denied through the collective activities of their ongoing abusers.

These survivors are keenly aware of politics and the world, many can be considered experts in their field of expertise as their very survival has depended on their depth of understanding and knowledge of that environment.

I have spoken and communicated with 100's of survivors around the world and I am yet to get a conversation that is anything like that portrayed in the media.

In fact when survivors set the conversation it is most often in regards the hypocrisy and the stereotyping once again of victims of clergy abuse and the subsequent hijacking of the conversation which inevitably leads to no solutions being put forward. To those who believe the outrage of survivors is all about their sexual abuse as a child have missed this point entirely. The outrage of survivors is about the abuse of power used against them not only today but for each and every day of their life since their childhood.

More importantly these people branded as permanently damaged and harmed individuals have a comprehension and an understanding that is in my belief a far superior understanding of life and the living of life, of morals and of justice, of ethics and reparation, of repair and of healing than those they were abused by and those who attempt to deploy the processes based on the philosophies which permitted the abuses to be used as a purported healing mechanism or salvation carrot.

Rarely has a conversation focused to the degree the press does on the early sexual abuse actions, this obsession by the press creates the myth that survivors are permanently damaged and are rarely capable of speaking on other than their actual childhood abuses or on their own behalf. Most often the conversation focuses on the most recent fraud or deception of themselves or the community as they are amongst the few in society who are attuned to the deceptions and are capable of seeing through them when they are thrust on to the population via spin and stereotyping.

Religion as a whole has shown that it has little to offer society in the areas of knowledge and understanding of the clergy abuse issue.

Not only does this stereotyping create and prolong the myth it actually plays into the hands of those who have a vested interest in the world not finding the truth and a subsequent solution.

If ever there were a group of people who have discussed and pondered deeply the origins of the problems they and so many others encounter in their day to day lives as a result of their childhood abuses and as a result of the ongoing abuses and discrimination that they and a great mass of the people of the world face on a daily basis.

There is a time in the healing process of such a global calamity as the current sexual abuse aspect of this crisis where the lessons learned are openly raised and discussed so that society can benefit from the experiences of those who survived.

The survivors I talk with have in the main moved beyond the religious aspects and have focused on the crime, the criminals, justice and repair for all those harmed. They are the survivors who have been shut out of the support systems of the religious and redress systems due to their insistence of their focus on the children, the law, justice and the return to health, wealth and happiness of the survivors; a position the religious and government authorities do not wish to debate publicly as they appear to be most fearful of the loss of some power and authority; regardless of the needs of children and society.

The story of these survivors has never been permitted to be told through current support systems as the vast majority of these have sprung from or are based on a religious perspective. The story of survivors outside the realm of Catholicism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam or other religions is the real story of survival of the children who have experienced abuse at the hands of the most powerful.

It is time for the world to begin to hear the facts and the truths this group of people can bring to the world community in their joint quest of bringing a halt to the sexual and other abuses of children.

The survivors are of paramount importance to society and their story does truly hold the key to real solutions and outcomes; its this story of these people that I would like to see you do.

You may like to pass on to others who may wish to add something.
