The Federation of Irish Societies in the UK have not Publicised this WHY? Where do they get thier funding from?

THE VOTE THEY NEVER WANTED TO HAPPEN!

There is a new mood of optimism; amongst the Oppressed and Downtrodden Irish Community; that consists of the Survivors of the Irish Industrial School System.

On the eve of the New Statutory Trust Fund becoming Law; and Replacing the Education Fund; there is a hum of excitement and a chance for real change!

The Irish Government have been negotiating with the Congregations Of Religious Ireland for over a year on the setting up of the Trust Fund; but when it comes to consulting the people it affects; the consultation period is short and quietly announced!

But you can't keep good people down; the world at large can now vote on whether or not the Survivors should be consulted? Openly, Honestly and Constructively.

When asked the creator of the Poll Robert Northall said "This is not about Money this about not being listened to; They were not listened to as Children; They are Still being treated as Children!"

He Added "This is an open vote for everyone to tell the Irish Government that they have to listen to the Survivors, and not he Government Mandate Representative of Survivors"

One of the survivors Sean Morrison when asked said "the Entire matter has been planned and set in motion, without any consultation with the Survivor's, without offering them a chance to even vote on just how they would like the money, contributed by the Religious, to be shared out. This is both very unfair, and unjust, a view shared by the majority of Survivor's, the Media, and Member's of various support group's."

He goes on to say "Many of these Survivor's, are at an age when further education, council ling, etc, are of no interest to them. Many are coming toward's the end of their live's, mostly retired now, and in view of the fact that the majority were badly short-changed at the Redress Board, they , and I, feel it only fair that the contributed money, should be shared out fairly between the Survivor's, allowing us all to get on with our remaining live's, and call closure on this sorry part of our live's. This would be the correct way to proceed, for Survivor's, and the Government."

The Poll has the Backing of two very well respected "Witnesses" of the cruelty of the Industrial School System Paddy Doyle the Author of "The God Squad and Kathleen O'Malley who is the Author of "Childhood Interrupted". Kathleen is also a Magistrate in the UK. So she knows about Justice something that the Survivors of the Industrial School System saw very little of.
