And to sum that all up in a few words. It is all a fraud, it has been all along. The only difficulty today it seems is to determine which bits of the catholic church should be thrown away - from the looks of it the lot of it is in doubt.
We can describe political and religious systems as narcissistic and psychopathic in nature and in practice; a system of kleptoparasatism and fraud, of deceit and the mutilation of ouroffspring by these segments of society yet many still appear to be discussing which portions of those should be discarded when in fact the discussion should be on how to bring about a stop to the political and legal landscape these men have brought to society.
How to turn those archaic things back so that natural justice and a standard of normalcy and decency should pervade.
With all the words and all the suggestions the fact remains that I and other survivors who are entitled to support from the church and its members yet I and many others can find no appropriate means of addressing the issues we face. We are repeatedly returned back to the broken systems that we wish to complain of. This practices is found world-wide and is the first practice of the cover up mentality that should be dismantled.
Today when we as survivors read of how many of you use our plight to sway an argument or to aid in the assumption that all have been compensated and assisted back to health or simply to make the statement when there are survivors who are put through a living hell by church run processes with no complaint or review of the damaging processes. These are repeated across the globe under the guise of "independent" commissions, panels, boards etc.
Until the directives put in place by bishops across the world to constantly redirect all attempts by survivors to obtain assistance from the more 170 Catholic charities without encountering the need to refer the clergy abuse survivor back into what thousands of survivors describe as narcissistic, controlling, inflexible, biased psychopathic systems - this is the coal face of the cover up. This is where the bishops have blended Canon law and civil law; this is where the agreements are made, where the secret deals and payments are done (the system also provides for the maintenance of private, confidential and or secret agreements which all go to perpetuating the cover up). Clean these areas up and put in best practice psychological programs, provide proper complaints procedures, make available public channels of communication with the hierarchy.
If the above is not achievable then the removal of the barriers on Catholic charities providing support services directly to survivors/victims of abuse by clergy and religious by removing the directive to report all contacts back to what survivors state repeatedly is a broken and clearly dysfunctional system.
