Dear friends. I've been notified that the Hamilton, Ontario police have told the staff at Mohawk College, where I'm speaking this Wednesday, that a plain clothes officer from their force will be in the audience monitoring me and what I say. The officer who notified them,Brian Ritchie, says this is "purely routine".

Hardly. This is the first time anywhere that a police force has thus notified organizers of one of my meetings in this manner. I consider it a form of intimidation since undercover cops are regular features of my meetings, I must assume, and to be notified of this fact is unusual and designed to unnerve people.

I would appreciate it if you would phone or email Brian Ritchie and let him know that their actions have been noted by my supproters, and that we consider them a form of intimidation and subtle pressure to impede and obstruct our investigation into the criminal actions of their employer, the government of canada and the crown of england.

I act as agent, chief of staff and general manager for Reverend Kevin Annett, who is scheduled to deliver a lecture on Wednesday, March 30 at Mohawk College in Hamilton. I am informed that you have stated the intention... of attending this lecture, apparently in plain clothes. On further query, it is my understanding that you informed the convenor of the event that your intent was "purely procedural."

Reverend Annett has delivered literally hundreds of lectures, film screenings and media interviews at universities, colleges, civic and humanitarian and even government groups, throughout Canada, the U.S., Ireland, the UK, Italy,Slovenia, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Scotland and Wales for some eight or nine years. He is the co-founder and secretary of the seven-nation International Tribunal into The Crimes Of Church and State, and his award-winning film "Unrepentant" has been translated into four languages and has been broadcast to millions of people in Europe and over the BBC.

I would simply like to inquire why yours is the first police organization - city, county, state, provincial, federal or international - that has ever announced the intention of monitoring one of Reverend Annett's lectures or appearances on a "purely procedural"basis, or otherwise.

Reverend Annett's sole objective is to work toward justice and the truth for indigenous people in Canada, Ireland,Australia and internationally. His work is well known (with varying degrees of enthusiasm) by the Prime Minister, The Minister of Indian Affairs John Duncan, the Commissioner of the RCMP and the Moderator of the United Church of Canada, all of whom we keep regularly apprised of Reverend Annett's work, his lectures and those who attend..
