The former Salvation Army Captain found guilty of historical child sex offences has been sentenced to ten years jail.
In October, 69-year-old John Gainsford was found guilty on 19 indecency and three rape charges.
They date back to his time as Manager of Temuka's Bramwell Booth Children's Home between 1973 and 75..
The judge said he had to take into account Gainsford'sage and failing health, but he also pointed to the vulnerability of hisvictims and the on-going impact on their lives.
