Why is such toxicity permitted in the Royal Commission?

Survivor and victim stories by the hundreds and possibly by the thousand - their message is that they were abused in every possibly way, psychologically, sexually, physically. They were hindered and handicapped, they were shunned and ostracized, they were cheated and deceived. They were beaten and bullied, raped and exploited, many had their children stolen or cheated from them, families were destroyed beyond repair, they were denied human dignity and natural justice over years, very often for their entire life. All it seems as a result of having to meet the needs of the superstitions and fears of others.

On the other hand we have a parade of religious leaders and followers claiming a lack of agreement, a lack of knowledge, a lack of understanding, a lack of accountability, a lack of responsibility, a lack of human respect, a lack of respect for the law, boundless ignorance, special pleadings, the Nuremberg excuse, claims of a lack of money, claims of following directions from lawyers

Survivors and victims say they want justice and restoration and to be able to live in their own country without ever again having to live within the needs and demands of the superstitions and fears of others.

We find ourselves watching a fantasy where the religious appearing at this Royal Commission swear an oath to tell the truth based on a book that supports child abuse, genocide, misogyny, war, murder, rape, vengeance

The one fantasy that I find to be both immoral and unethical in the extreme about this Royal Commission is that it allows into its hearings and relies upon obtaining veracity, clarity and truth from a book laden with support of child abuse, abandonment, genocide, misogyny, war, murder, rape, vengeance, stoning, scapegoating, contradiction, fallacy, fantasy and a myriad of unsupportable claims upon which an oath to tell the truth is made and accepted.

What is offensive is that the same religious tools that were used to groom and to deceive us and our families is given an undeserved status. The horror of religious teachings reaches right into the hearing room and is given place and approval and through such is sanctioned as an equal in the eyes of the commission.

What status do you give to a religion that indoctrinates children, often with a fear of Hell.

The sheer stupidity of allowing a bible filled with the horror of sanctioned child rape and abuse, human slavery, religious war and the theft and the murder of non believers into an inquiry into abuses primarily at the hands of the religious simply beggars belief. The basis of a religion which is shown to have crumbled into failure at every step when it comes to child safety and protection, a religion  which posits implausible pseudoscience, fantastic claims and infects our political and policing systems with its obscene beliefs and obsession for the control of children is granted special license to operate under its own laws and beliefs in a commission of inquiry of child abuse. If anything were to feel unbelievable it is just such a situation as this.

Every person at this inquiry abused as a child was blackmailed and psychologically entrapped through the use of this terror and horror filled book and yet it is permitted to be a standard for truth and fact yet this hypocrisy is permitted to continue to place these fantastical beliefs and claims not just on a par with Australian law but to be above it. If ever there was a need for a place to be free from the constraints of the fears, fantasies and superstitions of religion this Royal Commission should be that place.

Do you find it offensive that a book containing instructions for slavery and the ownership of people, genocide, infanticide, incest, child abuse, rape, slaughter and pillage and more should be permitted within the confines of the Royal Commission let alone be used as a hallmark of morality and ethics or to swear an oath on that you will speak the truth?

The toxicity and lunacy of it comes from those who believe that they simply cannot speak the truth unless they swear upon these failed morals, compromised ethics and doubtful sanity. The Bible and religious laws were what was used to silence and to suppress us. The Bible and religious laws were used to seduce us. The Bible and religious laws were used to turn our families and communities against us.
